A fabulous book reproducing the original Lino cuts Gluck made between 1946 and 1948 while recovering in a sanatorium in Switzerland from his experiences in Mauthausen concentration camp .
Felix Gluck was born in Bavaria in 1923 and fled from the Nazis to Hungary. He studied painting and came to England in 1948 to attend the University of Durham , winning first prize in a competition mounted by the V & A in 1949. He had a fascinating life and worked as both illustrator and art editor eventually setting up his own publishing firm in 1971.
Soft covers, good condition with small mark to front cover but all Lino cut prints in excellent order . Published in 1986.
