An antique wooden solitaire board and glass marbles.
This wooden board was obviously a bit knocked and gnarled around the rim (allowing the marbles to escape from the grooved edge as they were picked off ) and a thrifty person has saved the day with a clever mend - a band of tin simply pinned. Problem solved, and a lovely old game preserved for the next generation.
Board measures 17 cm in diameter.
